The main functions of Commissioner Office, Lahore Division are stated as follows:
- Overall responsible for Revenue Recovery and Revenue Administration
- Responsible for overall administration in the Division
- To coordinate between the Province & the Districts, through the District Coordination Officers for subject pertaining to the Provincial Government
- To ensure proper implementation of policies of the Provincial Government
- Transfer / Posting of all Grade-18 and below officers of the Provincial Government within the Division
- Inter District and Inter / Intra Divisional Coordination
- To supervise the development of Lahore Ring Road
- Sanctioning authority of the projects amounting to Rs. 200 million
- To oversee and coordinate development activities undertaken by the Districts and Provincial Government
- Charge of Chairman, Board of Governors, Cattle Market
- Charge of Convener and Chairman of Divisional Development Working Party
- To promote Private Section Development within the Division
- To monitor the performance of the offices of Director, Anti-Corruption Establishment and District Public Prosecutors
- Responsible for Relief and Disaster Management
- Responsible for Jail inspections
- Monitoring of technical, vocational and higher education institutes
- To perform all functions delegated by the Provincial Government from time to time
- Charge of Chairman, Board of Governors / Board of Trustee of all Divisional Public Schools at Divisional Headquarter
- Protocol and coordination duties during the visits of VVIPs
- Charge of Chairman, Divisional Sports Committee
- Charge of Chairman, Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority (PHOTA), Team of Lahore Division
