Commissioner Lahore Division, Saif Anjum, said that under the tag of Food Bank, specialy cooked food as well as leftover food would be provided to poor disables, women, persons, orphans and old aged ones at their homes. He said that Akhawwat had identified and enlisted more than 500 families till that time and Akhawwat would distribute the food at their home to keep their social prestige protected. He said administration would leave no stone unturned for sustainable supply of food to the poor. He said that marriage hall association and restaurants association were cooperating in that regard a lot. He said that within few weeks, food bank would be able to reach 10 to 15 thousands poor persons. He said that list of the poor prepared by Akhawwat was also going to share with associations too.
Commissioner Lahore Division, Saif Anjum, today chaired a meeting in his office regarding food bank. Dr Amjad Saqib Chairman Akhawwat, DC Lahore Dainsh Afzal, Additional Commissioner Tariq Qureshi, Associations and officers of Punjab Food Authority, Punjab Revenue Authority and police participated in the meeting.
